The Northern District of California (San Francisco, Oakland & San Jose), The Eastern District of Missouri (St. Louis); the Southern District of Georgia (Savannah & Brunswick) and the Western District of Michigan. The Court Security Officers in these Districts voted to improve and strengthen their positions as CSOs by banding together with their fellow CSOs to create one strong unified voice free of third party guard union interference. Your fellow CSOs thank you for giving USCSO your vote of confidence and we now begin the task of working together to bring better working conditions and representation to Court Security Officers Nationwide.

As of April 1, some of us were to receive new contractors. In the 3rd circuit MVM has replaced USProtect early, it seems another payroll could not be met and as in the last 3 prior payrolls some CSO's received pay some did not. The 401 K has not been paid also and we are in close pursuit. FYI when a check bounces no matter what the reason it is the begining of the end.

New Mexico's wage has been ratified, seems there was a mix up on how the results were to be delivered to the union. NM members voted (23) for and (0) against. There were (3) other votes cast but due to numerous markings on the cards they had to be voided (2) were for and (1) against. Good job guys, hope we can now move on to resolve all our other issues.

08/31/07
Posted by: admin

USCSO’s ratification with AKAL is at hand, with all areas being heard from except New Mexico, we can safely say our new CBA with its various wage appendix has passed. This new CBA will cover all of NY, Baltimore MD, Northern GA, and Duluth MN. Since ID and NM’s CBA don’t expire till next September they will only receive a negotiated wage increase. Good job, well done guys.

08/30/07
Posted by: admin

Good news guys, USProtect and our district of NJ ratified their contract (67) for and (4) against I think this is cause to celebrate.

08/30/07
Posted by: admin

As of today the Union has not heard back from New Mexico on the ratification vote for their wage for 10/1/2007. This is a most important step for receiving a raise for the coming year. VP Crume has not returned any calls from VP Young in this matter.

08/24/07
Posted by: admin

Welcome aboard, the District of North Carolina has voted on August 24th to have USCSO represent them. Good choice.

08/23/07
Posted by: admin

Congrdulations, P.R. has ratified their CBA, with a vote of (12) for and (2) against. Good job guys, you deserve a raise...

08/16/07
Posted by: admin

Most of the ratification packs went out all looks good, getting back a very positive attitude. The contracts with AKAL look very good, while we are still waiting on USProtect to get back to us. Hey here is something you should all know, we have heard from our CSO's in Puerto Rico them seem very anxious to sign a contract this go round with MVM. Good to hear from you guys it has been a long time, I hope everything works out for you this time around.

08/10/07
Posted by: admin

There will be a ratification vote soon on all contracts, the packs should go out any day now, the union is pleased with what was agreed to with AKAL on all locations.

08/07/07
Posted by: admin

Well we have a best and final offer from MVM Inc. in Puerto Rico, the draft of the CBA and a letter to all members went out in the mail today for a ratification vote, all voting cards are due back by the 15th August. Hope there is 100% participation in this process because the CSO’s in PR have a lot to loose. They have not had a raise in close to two years. So let’s get those cards back ASAP.

07/27/07
Posted by: admin

We had a conference with AKAL most of the day and have resolved most of our issues, what we have agreed to will be put out to the membership for ratification ASAP. There are a few sticky points but we believe this to shall be resolved. All districts except NM and ID will have new CBA's; New Mexico and Idaho will just have wage increases till next year.  Issues that had been negotiated by VP Crume and still pending in New Mexico, we believe have been resolved and should have the paperwork in a day or two.

07/19/07
Posted by: admin

We have heard back from MVM and USProtect, VP Joe P is still going over USProtect's counter offer and should have it completed soon. While we did hear from Joe Morales at MVM we should have his counter to us any day now; there is a considerable problem pending with MVM, they would like to stop paying the H/W money in cash and place it in the 401K. That would reduce our take home pay by over $6,000.00. DO WE NEED FEDERAL MEDIATION??? And, still no word from AKAL, hope that is a good sign.

07/11/07
Posted by: admin

The union witnessed an intrusion test @ 500 Pearl St. NYC, performed by the USMS yesterday; CSO M. PAGAN passed with flying colors. The USMS hid a gun in a computer bag that was x-rayed and she caught the gun immediately. Good job Madeline.... The TSA at the airpots are not doing as well I might add they fail 20 out of 22 test.

07/10/07

AKAL & USCSO had another sit down on 7/10/07, we submitted a contract that covers just about all who we represent. Areas that have little things slightly different might be covered with a Letter of Understanding. Topics were more vacation, holidays, and money; seniority was a key issue as to job and shift preference.

07/09/07
Posted by: admin

We have a contract back from USProtect, as soon as we digest their changes we will report on the outcome. Good work Joe.

7/5/2007

Well negotiations with AKAL Security went surprisingly awkward; while there was much to go over with our many locations the company was seemingly confident these were to be fruitful negotiations. First up was N/GA; VP Hendricks was amazing he expressed many problems that keep resounding down under, hopefully the SSO/CSO problems can now be resolved.

Second, VP Young and President Hauschild revisited a series of incidents and problems resounding from our district in New Mex; there were some residual pending issues that the President strived to resolve. While supplied with limited and solicited info from the VP in New Mex, President Hauschild is attempting to have the company abide by a resolution that VP Crume believes he had reached with H/R. There was to be some resove in sight and moved onto wages. Their wage issue has sent a wave through our entire Union, New Mex had gone without an increase last year before joining USCSO. The company and the union tried diligently to come to an understanding on proceeding with a resonable starting point on their wage increase. A resolution was accepted to be taken back and dicussed with corporate.

There was a good deal of disscussion on the practice of unpaid leave and removal from work until an investigation could be concluded.
